Introduction

With the dawning of the new year and the coming of a new Obama Administration, labor and employment law in the United States is undergoing some significant changes.  The rights of workers will be elevated in importance.

Employers need to be aware of the changes in the law which are coming quickly.    Developing sound HR policies and staying abreast of developments  in the world of labor and employment law is critically important to avoid charges and complaints by employees, and because it is simply good business.

On these pages we want to keep you apprised of the latest developments in labor and employment law within the United States, individual states, and the European Union.

Changes to the FMLA, the ADA, and Section 125 of the IRC,  have already been implemented.  Changes to COBRA are coming.  If the Employee Free Choice Act passes, it will change the playing field for labor and management.

Because our practice is global, we will also seek to stay abreast of major changes to labor and employment rules within the European Union.

We hope you find our information helpful.  We welcome your comments and insights.
